H20 Urban has signed London-based construction and development firm Rooff Limited as joint venture partner and contractor on the half acre site at the junction of the Regents and Hereford Union canals. Works started late 2015 and are due to complete Summer 2017.
The site is currently home to a car park and derelict warehouse. The residential scheme, designed by international architecture practice Lewis & Hickey, is split into three buildings on either side of the Regents Canal. It comprises 34 homes - including 19 one and two-bedroom apartments and five four-bedroom town houses - plus 700 sq ft of commercial space. Ten of the homes will be affordable. Alongside the development work H20 Urban will repair a listed bridge and create a new piazza to enhance access to, and use of, the canals.
Nicola Tindale, H20 Urban CEO, said:
“The agreement with Rooff is an important step forward for this exciting project which will revitalise this canalside location. We look forward to starting on site in the next few weeks.”
Mark Horn, Managing Director, Rooff added:
“Rooff’s origins in the East End of London go back to the nineteenth century and so we are delighted to be involved in the delivery of Bow Wharf. Our commitment to the finest workmanship is a perfect match for H20 Urban’s understanding of how water and land can interact to produce great developments.”
